Xylex 2% is a sedative and analgesic with muscle relaxant properties and belongs to the α2-adrenoceptor antagonists. Xylex 2% causes muscle relaxation by stimulation of the central and autonomic nervous system. Xylex 2% has analgesic properties, but there is variation in the degree and location of analgesia among animal species. Therefore during surgical procedures, Xylex 2% should always be used in combination with another product (local or parenteral).

Xylex 2% Inj. is indicated for all situations in which sedation is required (like catching, transport) and as pre-anesthetic in large or painful surgical operations.
